Bill's New Brand: Windows Vista

Microsoft is dropping the long horn for a clear view - announcing new brand name "Windows Vista" for their much-delayed operating system. The new brand name comes complete with new tagline ""Clear, Confident, Connected; Bringing clarity to your world." selling clarity and connectivity.

Longhorn seems like it was Bill's idea and Vista the Mrs'. Most would agree that Vista is much better than Longhorn - softer and less fodder for those many long wait jokes. However, it still rubs off a little dated (eighties) and bland. Vista is obviously a safe choice made to appeal to the masses. Even your grannie won't mind it. And safe is always a snore.

One can assume that the name as much as the operating sytstem is being beta-tested at the moment and that we haven't seen the last of name changes.

If you asked us, the famous multi-coloured Windows icon is looking very dated too and in much need of a significant revamp.

Asta La Vista for now.
